Q: What is JARC?
A: JARC stands for Job Access Reverse Commute. This program, established under SAFETEA-LU (The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act – A Legacy for Users) is intended to provide new programs and initiatives to assist individuals with disabilities, seniors, and low-income individuals by providing transportation options to and from jobs and job-related activities.
Q: What is the JARC-SFV Project, and how does it apply to me?
A: JARC-SFV is a project of Mobility Management Partners (MMP) focusing on developing and implementing a pilot transportation brokerage system in the San Fernando Valley whereby qualifying individuals can have their job-related transportation needs matched with the most cost-effective and efficient mode of transportation. Individuals who belong to the target population groups of disabled, senior, and low-income are able to contact a centralized referral service and have their transportation needs matched with the available resources, and are then provided with the appropriate contact information to arrange for their transportation.
Q: Who will schedule my transportation needs?
A: This is a brokerage service, intended to match the needs of the individual with the available resources to meet those needs; Mobility Management Partners will provide you with transportation options available in the San Fernando Valley area and, if appropriate, will send you the transportation application that best suits your needs. Scheduling, as well as payment for the actual service, will be the responsibility of the individual working with the appropriate transportation provider.
